Obituary of Richard Earl Jardeen

A memorial service for Dick Jardeen will be held on Thursday, January 15 at 1:30 pm, at First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma. Dick was born on November 15, 1928 in Tacoma, to Earl and Bertha Jardeen. He went to heaven on January 3, 2015. Dick graduated from Stadium High School and then from the University of Washington with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the Air Force from 1951 until 1954. In 1960 he and his business partner Jack Stephens founded Totem Electric of Tacoma. It has been an enduring and advantageous partnership. Dick leaves his wife Marjorie, daughters Cheryl (Jim) Olson, Lynne (Tom) Mahoney, Debra Richard, and Jennifer (Devon) Duval; grandchildren James (Carrie) Mahoney, Peter (Hege) Mahoney, Danielle Dukes, Katelyn Richard, Joshua Duval and Zachary Duval; great-grandchildren Rylan Mahoney, Andrew Mahoney, Max Mahoney and Elizabeth Mahoney. (Isaiah 59:21) Dick's life was marked by faithfulness; his even temper, good humor and generous nature were of great benefit to those in his sphere of influence.
