James A. Guzzo was born July 5, 1951 to proud parents Alphonse and Mary Guzzo. He lived his entire life in Tacoma, WA attending Tayette School until he began working, first with the family run Alphonses Restaurant, and ending his career with the wonderful staff at Life Center. Jim's interests included serving as a board member for People First and actively participating with Metropolitan Parks, Special Olympics (highlighted by being selected to carry the torch one year to open the State Summer Games held at Fort Lewis), St. Rita's Church, as well as many trips at home and abroad. Above all, Jim's greatest love was being with family and friends. Following his parents passing Jim lived for a decade with our brother Joe and his wife Jennifer until health circumstances led to his new home at Kleiner Group Home. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his siblings Peter (Joan), Barbara (Paul), Dan (Linda), and Joe (Jennifer) along with 17 nieces/nephews and 10 great nieces/nephews. Funeral will be Friday, November 16 at St Rita's Church, 1403 S S Ainsworth Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405. Viewing is 10-10:30 am with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Guzzo Foundation c/o Life Center, 1717 South Union Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405.
